Vice President and Associate General Counsel
Externally, Mr. Georgiev advises clients by brining to bear timely and cross-discipline research and analysis that incorporates operations, finance, law, and policy into value-creating strategies and creative solutions to unique and complex problems. Internally, he assists the company’s General Counsel across a variety in-house duties, including compliance, portfolio management, and analytics.
Mr. Georgiev joined McKenna following his graduation from American University’s Washington College of Law, where he finished at the top of his class. As a law student, he completed several clerkships and traineeships, including at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and law firms Squire Patton Boggs and Hall Render. In his last year of law school he was the co-captain of his law school’s Jessup International Law Moot Court competition, finishing 14th at the international rounds and winning the U.S. Mid-Atlantic regional rounds where he was also awarded a top oralist award.
Prior to law school, Mr. Georgiev was a political risk and operations analyst at the Crumpton Group, where he was part of a dedicated analyst team embedded at a Fortune 10 company. Prior to that he was a private equity analyst with the Fortress Investment Group.
Mr. Georgiev holds a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law, M.A. from Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service, and a B.A. from St. Francis College. An avid soccer fan, he frequently referees soccer matches around the DMV area at the highest youth levels and high school.
