Matt Shannon

Matt Shannon is a Senior Associate with the firm’s Advisory practice. Matt supports a variety of engagements and project scopes contributing to strategy and planning development, market and competitor analyses, policy, and project recommendations. Mr. Shannon also assists with investment due diligence work associated with the firm’s portfolios.

Prior to joining McKenna & Associates in May 2021, Mr. Shannon worked at Perch Partners, a strategic brand advisory and management consulting firm in Seattle, Washington. During his tenure at Perch Partners, he led the firm’s market research and analytics practice, building data-driven strategies for innovative startups as well as Fortune 100 companies. Mr. Shannon also spent two years as a legislative assistant in the office of Senator Tom Cotton and served as the Senator’s staff designee to the Senate Banking Committee. His portfolio included economic, trade, and financial regulatory policy.

Mr. Shannon holds an MBA from the University of Washington Foster School of Business and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a member of the varsity men’s lacrosse team. As a senior, he was recognized as the Athletic Department Scholar Athlete of the Year. He currently resides in Washington, DC, with his wife.
